Handsome Italian woven rattan wicker sofa and matching demilune ottoman designed in the manner and style of Michael Taylor by Wicker Works. The pole rattan frame is covered with woven pencil reed rattan wicker having a braided border around the seat. Known as the "classic daybed". The sofa has a unique tuxedo sofa style or case sofa design with a striking profile. The sofa suite includes a matching large scale ottoman with a demilune form. Both pieces have been refinished with new upholstery in a subtle chevron pattern fabric in a linen style fabric. The sofa is crafted in the California organic modern style with a coastal aesthetic. The Italian Wicker Works sofas are a superior quality product compared to Asian versions. The set is in very good, well preserved condition as seen in photos with desirable aged patina on the rattan finish. The set is sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship.
