Rare pair of large lounge chairs or club chairs designed in the California coastal organic modern taste by Thomas Pheasant for McGuire. The set includes 2 lounge chairs and 1 matching ottoman measuring 30 inches wide and 22 inches deep. The chairs feature an oak frame embellished with rattan wicker tightly woven and fitted. Each piece has round oak handles on the sides and is supported by thick, round bronze legs with faux bois finish. The chairs have a low slung relaxed profile with a generous seat having deep upholstered cushions and bolster pillows. The rattan and oak have a rich, dark espresso finish. The chairs are heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Original order tags and makers plaques on bottoms. These rare chairs were produced in limited numbers. We have only seen one other set having the faux bois bronze legs. Purchased from the original owner estate.
