Set of Six Mario Papperzini Lattice Garden Dining Armchairs

$9,800.00

Rare, iconic set of six mid-century modern Italian patio and garden dining armchairs designed by Mario Papperzini. The large chairs feature an iron frame with a strap lattice back in the neoclassical taste. The back and flat arms measuring 23.5 inches high are decorated with round ball finials. The thick legs have a hand-hammered finish and are conjoined by gracefully curved demilune stretchers. The set of chairs retains their original green weathered patina in a handsome verdigris finish that has an aged, weathered patina. The chairs are sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The chairs were the inspiration for many designs such as the Amalfi collection of Janus et Cie. Amazing original finish with an aged verdigris patina that could be refinished or enjoyed as-is which would be preferred by collectors showcasing the original finish. From an estate in Beverly Hills, California. The set does not include seat cushions.
