Pair of Rustic 19th C. French Walnut Bifold Wood Doors 9 Ft
$3,800.00
An exceptional and rare pair of tall 19th century bi-folding country French provincial farmhouse door panels crafted from walnut measuring 9 feet high. Each door consists of two door panels joined by iron pivot hinges. Each panel is constructed of raised molded side and edge rails surrounding large central field. The panels are broken up by horizontal rails with chamfered edges. The reverse of the doors reveals exposed horizontal battens slotted into vertical stiles. Each door is fitted with later bronzed cast iron door knobs in a blooming rosette form over a scalloped backplate. The wood displays a beautifully aged, and weathered antique timber patina, with natural figuring and knots. Well suited for use as doors, room dividers, accent pieces, or wall installations. Some of the hinges are later additions. Each door (two panels) measures approximately 25" wide for a total of 50.5" wide when all are together, and 9 feet tall. The walnut has a distressed patina with losses as seen in photos enhancing their character and charm. Sold as a pair.
