An authentic, labeled 20th century organic modern rattan and brass coffee or cocktail table made in the California coastal organic modern style by McGuire Furniture of San Francisco, CA. The table features a sculptural lattice rattan base topped by a substantial round pane glass top. The base is constructed from rich dark honey or tobacco colored rattan poles tied together with contrasting lighter tan leather rawhide lashings in a fascinating geometric grid pattern. Each rattan upright is finished with a patinated brass trefoil clover shaped cap, functioning as a spacer or support for the glass. The contrast of the crisp, circular glass and the dark, intricate rattan framework creates a distinctive profile with Organic Modern, Palm Beach Regency, and California Coastal stylistic influences, suitable for a number of interiors.
