Set of Four Antler Dining Chairs by Edward Wormley for Dunbar

$24,000.00

An iconic and rare set of four horned antler chairs designed by Edward Wormley for Dunbar. Known as 5580 model these dining chairs are crafted from rich mahogany with newly caned seats. The natural toned cane is woven in a chevron or herringbone geometric pattern. Arguably one of the most beautiful chair designs Wormley ever created and one of the most elusive as very few were produced. The design is distinguished by a dramatic sweeping "horned" antler crest, sculptural back rail, and elegant, slightly splayed stance. The newly re-woven cane seat panels offer a warm contrast to the dark espresso finish. The set includes two rare armchairs measuring 23" wide with 25.75" tall arms, and two side chairs, measuring 19.5" wide. 3 of the 4 chairs retain their original Dunbar metal plaques underneath. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA. Sold as a set of four.
