A handsome Italian mahogany "Modern Drum End Table," made by Ralph Lauren in Italy. The table features a dramatic drum-form silhouette with a circular top featuring a beautifully arranged book-matched and quartered veneer, creating a subtle radiating woodgrain pattern across the surface. The table has a 2-tier design with a bottom display shelf. The body echoes a drum or barrel silhouette, but instead of an enclosed cylinder, the body is opened with vertical panels and substantial negative space. Thick lower and upper surfaces frame the space of the table, drawing influence from 20th century modernist and Art Deco imagery. The rich dark brown finish carries rich red and brown mahogany undertones and a glossy lacquered sheen. The table is individually bench-made by Italian artisans and finished with the highest level of hand-craftsmanship. The table is well-suited for use as a side table, drink table, bedside table, or accent table. Metal Ralph Lauren maker's plaque is present on bottom.
