Monumental set of fourteen stately English dining chairs made in the George III taste. The opulent chairs feature a Chinese Chippendale style with carved open fretwork designs on the back and arms also known as cockpen chairs. The grand set consists of twelve side chairs and two host armchairs. The chairs have been upholstered with a modern, whimsical striped fabric having a khaki toned ground bordered by patinated brass nail heads. The hardwood frames have a rich, dark mahogany finish. The chairs are all very sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The two host armchairs have 27 inch high arms.
