Set of Four Mario Papperzini Iron Leather Strap Dining Chairs

$6,800.00

Rare set of four iconic mid-century modern iron dining chairs designed in Italy by Mario Papperzini. The set features woven leather strapping instead of the customary metal lattice inset. The square backs have round ball finials on the corners and the seats have an ergonomic curved bottom. The leather strapping is soft and supple with a weathered, aged patina and nailhead trim. The legs have a rustic elegance with an industrial aesthetic and hand-hammered finish. The leather has a rich, cognac tone with darkening around the nailhead trim. The chairs are sturdy and solid with strong joinery and old repairs. Sold as a set of four.
