Distinctive set of four Italian Florentine style 20th century carved Savonarola armchairs crafted from walnut. The chairs feature a campaign style scissor folding frame with curule form legs in the baroque taste. The sculptural chair has a crest rail with ornately carved scrolled acanthus and rocaille on top. The flat arms have dramatic lion head finials. The walnut frame is constructed from interlaced ribs forming the legs and seat with a handsome silhouette. Sold as a set of four. From an estate in San Francisco, California.
