Set of Twelve Karl Friedrich Forster Texas Leather Dining Armchairs

$8,800.00

An iconic tailored set of twelve German "Texas" leather dining armchairs designed by Karl Friedrich Forster KFF and executed in a chic, modern style. The gorgeous chairs feature a desirable distressed leather patina on the thick, smooth buffalo hides. Each chair is defined by a rectilinear silhouette with fully leather-clad arms, sides, and back, raised on slender square-section steel legs in a darkened and patinated gray steel finish. The upholstery is a deep espresso-toned leather with visible weathering from use exposing warm brown suede undertones. Each chair has varying degrees of wear and exposure as seen in photos. The leather surfaces are free from rips and tears having only rubbed spots that expose the contrasting saddle suede tone. Accent cream stitching across the chairs traces the horizontal lines of the frame. The seats are deep with a loose thick leather cushion, large paneled arms, and a gently angled back. The chairs are very comfortable with solid joinery and excellent craftsmanship. The seat bottoms are covered in a "KFF" pattern fabric, and the chairs retain small KFF signature tags. The distinctive profile is reminiscent of Jean-Michel Frank's mid-century modern designs.  Sold as a set of 12. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
