Set of Six Kreiss Louis XVI Style Cerused Oak Dining Armchairs
$8,800.00
A beautifully crafted set of six Kreiss "Peninsula" oak dining armchairs crafted in a modern Louis XVI style. The iconic design after John Hutton's Grand Soleil chairs. The set consists of all armchairs with matching upholstery. The bespoke armchairs feature pale bleached oak frames crafted with ornately carved accents having a lightly distressed and cerused finish. The set is constructed with tall oval cameo backs and open arms with upholstered manchette arm pads ending in carved scroll volutes. The chair sits atop square tapered legs with fluted carvings and spade feet descending from carved corner blocks connected by a deeply carved seat apron. The oak frames are finished in a rustic pale cerused finish, highlight the carved recesses across the seat back and apron. The chairs are upholstered with a khaki-tone fabric, creating a subtle two-tone contrast with the chairs. The frames are strong with solid joinery and construction. Crafted in a blend of modern Louis XVI, provincial, and Neoclassical influences, the set is well-suited for a variety of spaces. Each chair has a Kreiss manufacturer's tag underneath the seats. Arms of chairs measure 27.5" tall. Sold as a set of six. From an estate in Hollywood, CA.
