Set of Ten John Hutton for Donghia Grand Soleil Dining Chairs

$12,000.00

Substantial set of ten "Grand Soleil" black leather and mahogany dining chairs designed by John Hutton for Donghia. The imposing set consists of eight side chairs and two host armchairs. The chairs feature a rare smooth frame finish without a reeded or fluted carved decoration. The refined cameo or oval-back silhouette drawing inspiration from Neoclassical and Louis XVI styles while maintaining a clean, modern transitional profile. Each chair is constructed from a large dark stained mahogany frame and upholstered in a dramatic black leather finish, creating an espresso-toned palette. The chairs have thick, generously padded back panels and seats for comfort. The armchairs are distinguished by elegantly curved arms fitted with upholstered arm caps. The legs are tapered with a subtle cuff detailing. The chairs are sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Exceptional condition with minor chips and scuffs commensurate age and use. Makers label on bottom of chairs. Sold as a set of ten.
