Set of Eight French Art Deco Style Macassar Ebony Dining Chairs

$6,800.00

A dramatic set of eight 20th century French Art Deco style dining chairs featuring an exotic Macassar ebony veneered and lacquered finish. The large set consists of six side chairs and two host armchairs. The chair's design features tall and gently flared backrests, sharp pointed arms, and subtly curved saber legs ending in squared block feet. Constructed in the manner and style of Jules Leleu (French 1883-1961). The chair backs are executed in a book-matched and arranged veneer creating an intriguing chevron pattern design. The chairs are finished in a high-gloss lacquer over the Macassar ebony veneer with beautiful detailing. The woodgrains showcase strong linear striping and deep toning variation of shades of espresso, cinnamon, and auburn. The chairs are upholstered in a tailored plush parchment-toned Alcantara style textile to create a crisp contrast with the dark frames. The arms measure 26.25" tall. Sold as a set of eight. Amazing craftsmanship and detail in very good, well-preserved condition as seen in photos.
