Set of Eight Danny Ho Fong Rattan Garden Dining Armchairs
$6,800.00
A stylish weathered set of eight mid-20th century patio and garden dining armchairs designed by Danny Ho Fong for Fong Brothers Tropi-Cal, Los Angeles, CA. The chairs are crafted beautifully in the California coastal organic modern taste with bent rattan pole construction in a curved barrel-back silhouette joined with criss-crossing split-reed lashings throughout. The vertical pole back creates a refined open fretwork lattice effect continuing around the sides. The arms and apron feature a rolled bundle form, leading downwards into broad straight legs in front and sweeping pole legs in the back. The legs are conjoined by a rattan pole box stretcher. The rattan throughout the set has a faded, sun-washed honey or wheat-golden finish, giving the chairs a coastal and tropical effect with a rich, aged patina. The seat and backs of the chairs are finished with original large loose box cushions, upholstered in a tan fabric having a tactile weave. The suite is crafted in a chic blend of tropical Palm Beach, California Coastal, and Organic Modern styles, suitable for use indoors or outdoors in a sunroom, garden, patio, living room, dining room, or poolside. Sold as a set of eight. Additional matching six lounge chairs, ottomans, and marble inset tables are also available. Arms of chairs measure 23.5" tall. Sold as a set of eight. From an estate in Malibu, CA.
