A handsome pair of 20th century patinated cast bronze Southeast Asian rain drums, frog drums, or side drink tables in a rich patinated bronze finish. The drums have a tall matching drum form with extensive surface ornamentation. Each drum features a wide flared rim and paired ring handles at the shoulder, above a finely detailed body wrapped in horizontal registers of rosette roundels, meandering key motifs, latticed diamond patterns, and beaded borders worked in low relief. The circular tops are decorated with concentric circles and centered by a sunburst or star motif. The surfaces retain a beautiful timeworn finish palette with deep bronze and copper tones and verdigris highlights. The design has a flat top without decorative frogs making them ideal for tables. Versatile as stools, drink tables, side or end tables, or accent pieces. Sold as a pair from an estate in Malibu, CA.
