Pair Country French Provincial Marble Top Demilune Sideboards
$7,800.00
Matching pair of demilune fruitwood sideboard servers or buffet cabinets featuring thick marble tops. The cases have three large doors opening to an open storage area with shelves. The doors are paneled with a burl wood veneer inset. The front of the cabinets are decorated with carved rosettes over hanging foliate designs. The frieze is fitted with a small storage drawer over the central cabinet door. The cabinets are topped with thick Italian rose marble slabs having a conforming shape. The marble has a whimsical pink tone with fine veining. The cabinets have subtle Louis XVI neoclassical elements that are softened by the country French style and finish. The fruitwood has a rich, warm lustrous patina in a warm honey tone. The cases have a gracefully rounded design. Made in the style of Parisian Maison furniture ateliers of the mid-20th century France. The cabinets are heavy and solid with strong joinery and construction. The finish has a desirable aged patina with minor chips and scuffs adding to their provincial aesthetic. The marble has a fine honed finish with a thick stepped edge. From an estate in Santa Barbara, California. Sold as a pair.
