Monumental 19th C. French Stripped Pine Sideboard Cabinet 12 Ft
$9,800.00
A rustic monumental late 19th century French farmhouse painted and stripped pine sideboard dresser, cabinet, or shop counter measuring nearly 12 feet long and over four feet tall. The substantial pine case features an immense façade of three storage drawers above six enfilade style cabinet doors. The case is topped by a massive pine plank top with a molded edge. The top rests above a long frieze containing three drawers alternating with fielded panels. The drawers are fitted with cast iron cup pulls with a scrolling foliate decoration. Below are six cabinet doors with raised carved panels hung on traditional French fiche hinges. Three of the doors are fitted with lock-plates having keyhole escutcheons and keys. The drawers open to generous bays, each with two plank shelves and a wood slat floor, providing abundant storage space. The paneled sides and stepped molded plinth base complete the imposing architectural form of the case. The sideboard is very heavy with solid joinery and craftsmanship. The original white painted finish on the pine has been weathered and stripped over time to reveal a stunning distressed finish displaying the honey-toned pine and crackled streaks of white paint remnants. The cabinet is crafted in a rustic country French Provincial farmhouse style in an incredibly rare size giving the piece a distinctive profile and scale. Well-suited for a variety of spaces as a sideboard, buffet, storage, bar, media cabinet, dresser base, or as a retail store display.
