Elegant 20th century French iron cocktail or coffee table featuring a gilded finish. Crafted in the neoclassical directoire taste in the manner and style of Maison Jansen. The table is nearly square with a thick molded iron frame embellished with a gilt finish having an intentionally aged patina. The svelte legs are square, tapered, and conjoined by a large x form stretcher centered by an acorn motif finial. The table is topped with a thick pane of glass that is partially inset into the frame. Very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The open architectural design is understated with opulent finishes. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
