Serene 20th century Japanese Showa period four panel byobu folding screen depicting sparrows amid leafy bamboo in a misty landscape. The painting features a radiant silver leaf square style background with an aged patina. The painting is signed/sealed: Koha 香葉 by the artist. Crafted in the Nihonga School, 20th century style with ink and natural color organic pigments. The painting is set in a black lacquered wood frame embellished with patinated brass corners and mounted with a silk brocade border. The screen is in exceptional condition with minor repairs which are very difficult to see. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
