Colorful Japanese four-panel Showa period screen from a narrative tale, probably tales of Genji. Features five noble characters in elaborate robes, one riding a white horse among pines, painted over a dark background of gilt squares. Set in a black lacquered frame with a light silk brocade border and patinated metal embellishments on the frame. The painting is signed and sealed on the lower right side. From an estate in Los Angeles, CA.
