French Napoleon Empire Style Marble Bronzed Wall Console Table

$2,800.00

An elegant and petite wall console table crafted out of gilt bronzed metal and variegated green marble in a French Napoleonic Second Empire style. The table features a two-legged construction, intended to be mounted against a wall. The serpentine-edged top is cut from a richly veined green variegated marble sitting on top of a front skirt centered by a decorative gilt bronzed medallion. The medallion features a classical courting scene of a couple flanked by a kneeling gleaner amid sheaves of wheat rendered in fine detail. The top is supported by a pair of dramatic tapering bronzed legs, each elaborately reeded, topped by a gilt floral rosette corner block and ending in finely turned toupie feet. The table is crafted with a slender profile in an French Second Empire style, well suited for use as a console table, entry table, foyer, or a hall table. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
