Amazing Chinese export four panel coromandel screen featuring beauties in a pagoda pavilion landscape. Beautifully crafted from intricately carved soapstone in vivid colors and fascinating textures. The screen is constructed from heavy lacquered panels having square legs and ending with patinated brass clad feet. The scene is bordered by mother-of-pearl inlay in a geometric parcel gilt frame. The bottom of the panels features carved soapstone scholars objects in small window frames. The reverse side is decorated with stark flora and fauna in gilt. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
