$18,000.00

Grand late 19th century country French library bibliotheque bookcase cabinet constructed from pine. The large case features a country French aesthetic stripped pine finish with a desirable aged patina. The solid pine has a warm honey-toned patina with intricate carved details of ribbon molding and repeating patterns in the Louis XVI taste. The top case has three shelved areas each topped with a laurel wreath bow. The shelves are surmounted by a large stepped cornice molding on top. The carved accents among the stiles and frieze reflect the superior craftsmanship of 19th century cabinetry. The bottom case has three doors opening to a shelved storage area. All upper case cabinet shelves are height adjustable. The doors are embellished with fancy scrolled cartouche in patinated brass. The large case breaks into five pieces for transport and installation. Likely, crafted in French provincial workshops around 1880. The cabinet solid and sturdy with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Unique piece with the formality of Louis XVI design executed in pine giving it a country aesthetic and versatility.
