Rare, midcentury industrial style WWII steamer travel trunk featuring an aeronautical aluminum and steel case. Crafted in Japan by Kowa. The riveted construction aluminum frame is accented by polished steel reinforced corners and hardware. Each end of the trunk has its original thick leather handles that are intact with a desirable aged patina. The trunk would make a great coffee cocktail table or blanket chest at the foot of a bed. Original and well-preserved with an aged finish that could be fully polished or left with its natural patina. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
