Dramatic English library table or writing table hand-crafted from solid mahogany. The table features a large trestle base with Greco-Roman style corinthian column legs in the neoclassical taste. The legs are conjoined by large stretchers having carved acanthus and ending with block feet. The rectangular top has a thick apron decorated with a gadroon carved border. The apron has ample leg room measuring 23.5 inches from the floor. The top of the table showcases the radiant mahogany woodgrains. Heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The fluted columns are intricately detailed with carved acanthus giving the table a very distinctive profile and grand scale. From an estate in Beverly Hills, CA.
