Handsome contemporary pair of five drawer commodes, dressers, or chests of drawers made in the country Italian style. The chests feature solid mahogany case frames with dovetailed drawers having subtle inlay veneer on the fronts. The drawers have patinated brass ring pulls with an aged finish. The wood has an intentionally distressed finish to mimic 18th century pieces with indentations and dents under a rich, dark mahogany finish that showcases the lovely grain patterns. Sturdy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The design has a subtle Louis XVI or directoire style with a country or provinicial aesthetic. Sold as a pair from an estate in the Napa Valley, CA.
