Whimsical country French oak stool or bench seat made in the Louis XIII taste. The bench features an oak frame with Os de Mouton or mutton legs. The frame is upholstered with a colorful fabric having a geometric chevron zigzag pattern bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads. The thick, curved mutton legs are conjoined by curved stretchers making the stool very sturdy and solid. The oak has a rich, aged patina that showcases the woodgrains. The wood has a smooth hand rubbed finish with soft wear and patina. The fabric features dramatic yellow, amber, and brown tones.

Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with solid joinery and construction. Age appropriate wear and fading on the oak finish as seen in photos. Minor chips and scuffs which are very difficult to see. Bottom has no dust cover.
