Stunning Japanese Showa period two-panel folding byobu screen depicting three egrets in the grass at a pond. The large screen features a dramatic gold leaf square background with natural ink and color pigments. Painted in the Nihonga school style with soft details. Signed by artist with two seals on the right side "Shifu-Zukuri (made by)". The painting has a desirable aged patina with a small loss on the bottom left side. The large scale is very impressive with a shimmery gilt background that captures the light. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
