Charming Japanese four-panel Showa period byobu screen depicting colorful floral arrangements in various vases and baskets. The hand-painted screen features vibrant natural color pigments painted on a gilt silk ground. Signed by artist Teien with a seal on the left side. The painting is set in an ebonized wood with a black lacquer finish and a gold silk brocade border. The bright flowers are set in decorative woven baskets and a ming style blue and white vase.
