Chinese Export Six Panel Coromandel Screen Exotic Bird Landscape

Stylized 20th century Chinese export coromandel screen depicting an exotic bird landscape. The front side of the six panel screen is centered by a large mythical bird with colorful plumage. Each panel is 16 inches wide and crafted from solid hardwood planks. The hardwood is lacquered, incised, and painted with natural color pigments. The scene has a floral foliate border and is supported by stepped legs decorated with greek key motif designs and ending with metal clad feet. The colors are lightly faded with a lovely pastel finish. The reverse side features a bird and floral landscape that appears to be missing a panel on the left side. Beautifully crafted with a desirable aged patina on the finish. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
