Set of Nine Glazed Terra Cotta Ceramic Stools or Drink Tables

$3,800.00

A rare coordinated set of nine glazed terra-cotta ceramic garden stools or side tables in a bold, three-register composition. The stools have a cylindrical form with two subtle concentric rings around the sides. The stools are finished in a high gloss, hand-applied glazed surface, which results in a tri-color finish of a deep espresso or eggplant tone on top into an indigo or slate blue over the stool's natural off-white or ivory color ground, anchoring the form. The colors have a hand applied finish, especially apparent in the central band with authentic drip and brushed effects having an attractive kiln-fired finish, and the sawtooth edge where the drip resolves. Each features two oval handholds near the top. Each stool is unique and individually hand-crafted. The pieces blend modern, organic, wabi-sabi, and studio pottery influences and styles, and are functional as stools, pedestal display pieces, side tables, drink tables, or garden accents. The stools are reminiscent of designs by Canadian atelier Pascale Girardin.  From an estate in Malibu, CA. Sold as a set of nine.
