Rare mid-century modern aluminum patio and garden dining table made for Smithsonian gardens by Brown Jordan as a part of their horticultural artifacts collection. The Day Lily double pedestal garden dining table (Model#1955-4272) was made in ultra low production numbers and was the most expensive table that Brown Jordan offered. The sinuous double pedestal table featured "interlacing leaves with whiplash curves" as described by Smithsonian gardens. It was the first line to use aluminum for non-military purposes after WWII. The base measures 48 inches by 21 inches deep and is topped with an 82 inch pane of beveled glass. The table has been refinished in a verdigris green tone. The table has an amazing profile with large day lilies hidden in its leaves. From an estate in Hollywood, CA.
