Set of Four Thonet Prague Bentwood Armchairs by Josef Hoffman

$4,800.00

A refined set of four Thonet bentwood labeled and stamped armchairs designed by Josef Hoffman, known as the "Model 811 Prague" chair. The chairs are constructed in bent beechwood and feature woven cane seats and backs, finished in a warm blond-to-honey patina. Each chair is hand-crafted in steam-bent beechwood with sculptural wrap-around arms, curved back supports, and circular under-frame stretchers reinforcing the legs. The flowing bentwood design reflects Thonet’s timeless modernist aesthetic and technical mastery of steam-bending. The caned backs and seats offer an airy and light profile while retaining support and comfort. The chairs cleanly blend Art Deco, Mid-Century Modern, Bauhaus, Art Nouveau styles with Vienna Secession influence. The chairs are stamped made in Poland and three out of four retain their original Thonet stickers. The arms measure 27" high. Sold as a set of four.
