Monumental South Pacific Giant Clam Shell Fossil Specimen 3 Ft
$5,800.00
A rare and monumental natural South Pacific giant clam shell fossil (Tridacna gigas) with a richly weathered time-worn fossilized surface measuring over 3 feet wide. The massive shell rises from undulating folds and ends in a scalloped rim in the form of a wave caught mid-crest. The shell has been weathered over decades, giving it a palette of grey, chalky white, and light green, with the interior having darker shades of ochre and tan. Layered ridges, pitted and worn texture, and authentically weathered patina display the shell's age. The shell is able to sit on its own, and is well-suited for use as a decorative element on a console or sideboard, garden planter element, stone sink basin, or natural centerpiece. The piece is very heavy and solid.
