19th C. French Napoleon III Empire Wrought Iron Bronze Daybed
$3,800.00
A charming 19th century French daybed or bed frame, crafted out of bronze and iron in a Napoleon III period style. The bed features accenting turned bronze ball finials and a cast bronze medallion of crossed torches, a motif associated with the French Napoleon III Second Empire era (1852-1870). The frame is hand-crafted from wrought iron, executed in graceful symmetrical scrolling loops and ribboned forms. The iron is painted in a black finish with an attractive aged patina, adding to the authentic character of the piece and aged finished to the brass accents. The bed is raised on iron casters. Crafted in a classical Napoleonic Empire style, the versatile piece is functional as a bed or daybed sofa. The interior of the frame measures 37.5" wide by 78.5" deep, approximately a twin mattress size. Includes a new memory foam mattress as seen in photos. From an estate in San Francisco, CA. Linens and pillows not included, only new pad as shown in photo #2.
