Fascinating pair of framed nude paintings by Kevin Kadar (American, b. 1955). Tilted "Didi" and "Sarah" dated 1996. Site measuring 5.5 inches by 7 inches. Acrylic on paper mounted in natural honey finish wood frames with a wide mat. Original gallery labels affixed to back (Campbell Thiebaud Gallery, San Francisco, CA.) Sarah painting depicts a 3/4 profile seated figure with warm ochre, sienna, and umber tones. Loose and painterly handling with confident brush work and strong light. Didi painting depicts a reclining figure from behind with soft abstracted ground of neutral brown tones. Each painting is professionally matted and framed. Provenance: From the collection of Riley Johndonnell, creative director and cofounder of Surface magazine. Sold as a pair.
