Handsome and rare petite Dong Son-style Southeast Asian patinated cast bronze pedestal form rain drum that could serve as a side table, plant stand, or drink table. The bronze drum has a slim form with fine geometric branding. The design features a circular top with concentric registers with a central sunburst medallion, while the body shows crosshatched lines punctuated by foliate leaf detailing. The drum has two crossed loop handles on each side for hanging. The drum has a rich dark bronze finish with a naturally mottled verdigris patinated finish to the bronze. Functional as a side table, drinks table, side accent piece, or as a garden piece. From an estate in Carmel, California. Condition: Distressed, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with strong, solid construction. Age appropriate wear some nicks, dents, and a patinated, weathered, and distressed patina with verdigris. Some mottled tonal variation and oxidation adding to the authentic character of the piece.
