19th Century English Chinoiserie Revival Lacquered Drinks Table

$3,500.00

Elegant late 19th century Georgian style drink table decorated in the chinoiserie revival taste of the late 19th/early 20th century England. The table features an oval top decorated with a serene Asian landscape motif in parcel gilt. The lacquered top has moriage (raised pigment) accents and a subtle galleried edge. There is a small (4 inch by 5 inch) pull out drink tray on one side. The apron has a serpentine shape decorated with floral Asian reserves on all four sides. The table is supported by impossibly thin tapered legs narrowing to a half inch wide, and ending with dramatic spade feet. Gorgeous profile and patina with losses and old repairs that add to its charm and character. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
