A substantial stripped oak trestle dining table crafted in the country Italian Provincial style. The large table features a solid 2.5 inch thick rectangular plank top supported by two neoclassical style sculptural urn-form pedestal legs. The legs are conjoined by a long simple stretcher on the bottom and end with wide shoe feet. The urn shaped pedestal supports are broad and molded having a tapered form with four sides. The trestle feet have softly scrolling contours, in the style of a European refectory table. The piece is executed in oak with an intentionally distressed, weathered finish. The stripped oak has a distinctive dry, matte patina with a naturally toned finish. The finish showcasing the pale oak's beautiful organic grain movement and softly weathered surface in a bleached or cerused style. The table is stylistically flexible, combining French Provincial, Refectory, Rustic, Country, and Neoclassical styles and influences. The top measures 2.5" thick over a leg clearance of 27".
