A substantial 20th century country French provincial farmhouse trestle dining table or monastery table measuring over 8 feet long. The table features an impressive three inch thick plank top with breadboard ends crafted in richly grained solid oak. The trestle base is constructed with tusk-tenon joinery and supported by hourglass shaped legs ending with thick plinth shoe feet. The shaped legs are conjoined by a long central stretcher. The tables large planks showcase the oak's prominent grain and aged natural character, adding to the table's timeworn appeal, along with rounded edges. The table blends French Provincial, Rustic, Country, Monastery/Refectory, and Arts & Crafts styles, making it suitable for a variety of spaces. The leg clearance measures 27" inches. The table is sturdy and solid having excellent joinery and craftsmanship.
