Set of Six Woven Vegan Leather Dining Chairs by Budji Layug
$2,800.00
A rare and handsome set of six dining chairs designed by Budji Layug, constructed out of woven vegan leather over a wood frame. Each chair features a clean modern Parsons style silhouette consisting of a tall rectangular back, straight squared legs, and a boxed-form seat. The entire frame is fully clad in woven leather strapping in a geometric design. The chairs are fully wrapped in natural honey-toned leather, with linear layered bands on the legs and apron and a meticulously executed herringbone-like woven chevron design on the front and back. The seats are newly refinished in a soft beige upholstery, creating a subtle contrast with the wheat-toned frame. The chairs are crafted in a blend of tropical, coastal, midcentury, and organic modern styles, and are modeled after other late 20th century furniture makers such as Crespi, Karl Springer, John Hutton, Donghia, and Bielecky Brothers. Budgi maker's plaque is present under seats. Sold as a set of six.
