Michael Taylor Attributed Stone Pietra Dura Marble Center Table

$20,000.00

Magnificent center or dining table featuring a dramatic inlaid Italian pietra dura specimen round top. The molded stone base known as the "crossed lyre" is constructed from three large scrolled legs and is attributed to Michael Taylor Designs. The base is topped with iron to support the inlaid table top. The exquisite Italian specimen top features neoclassical geometric designs crafted from marble, quartz, jasper, and chalcedonies. The table is very heavy and solid with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The molded base has a rough porous finish juxtaposed by the smooth finish of the polished marble top. Very impressive table that could also serve as a dining table, garden table, or for an orangerie. From a grand estate in San Francisco, California.
