Dramatic and whimsical pair of Regency fireside armchairs crafted by Grosfeld House, New York. The chairs feature a mahogany frame with a winged back and gracefully curved scroll arms. The generous seats are supported by saber style legs decorated with carved acanthus. The chairs are upholstered with a festive ruby red mohair velvet fabric bordered by patinated brass tack nail heads. The back and seat have a silk brocade gold fabric embellished with delicate floral and foliate motifs in gilt, red, and yellow. The chairs have a distinctive profile with dazzling upholstery. Well preserved condition give age and use with vibrant colors and finish.
