Southeast Asian Bronze Rain Drum or Drinks Tables

Large Shan style southeast Asian patinated cast bronze rain drum or frog drum that could serve as a side table or drink table. The bronze drum has a tapered form typically from east Burma or Myanmar made by the tribes of the Karen people. The drum has loop handles on the sides for hanging. The top and sides are decorated with concentric circles and the top is centered by a sunburst or star motif. The flat top is decorated with stacks of little frogs on top of each other. The drum is heavy and large with a rich patinated finish on the bronze. The bottom of the drum has a loss and crack as seen in photos. Lovely piece made on a large scale with a dark oiled bronze finish.

Condition: Distressed, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with age appropriate wear. Loss on bottom and on one side as seen in photos. Lovely piece made on a large scale with a dark oiled bronze finish.
