Dramatic set of twelve burl maple root veneer dining chairs made in the Viennese Biedermeier style. The set consists of ten side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 22 inches wide and 22 inches deep. The chairs feature beech wood frames crafted by artisans and painstakingly embellished with maple root burl veneers. The chairs have a gracefully curved classic round back with a scroll design. The generous seats are upholstered with a plush velvet style fabric in a rich black tone that showcases the amazing maple woodgrains. Solid and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The armchairs have flat arms measuring 25 inches high. Sold as a set of twelve. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
