Grand set of ten carved walnut dining chairs crafted in the country French provincial or Louis XV taste. The set is comprised of eight side chairs and two host fauteuils armchairs with caned backs. The host fauteuils measure 24 wide and 41.5 inches high with 27 inch high padded arms. The chairs feature a festive paprika mohair upholstery fabric with a double welt border. The gracefully curved walnut frames are decorated with carved acanthus and shell rocaille on the serpentine aprons and cabriole legs. The elegant legs end with scrolled feet. The chairs are sturdy and strong with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The rich walnut finish has a desirable aged patina. Sold as a set of ten. From an estate in the Napa Valley, CA.

Condition: Good, wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with strong solid joinery and construction. Cane is intact. Vintage mohair shows well with some small spots which are difficult to see. Age appropriate wear with minor chips and scuffs to finish as seen in photos.
