Set of Six Pietro Costantini Lacquered Gondola Dining Chairs


Dramatic set of six Italian gondola style dining chairs designed by Pietro Costantini in San Vito al Torre Italy. The chairs feature a black lacquer piano finish on the klismos style sculptural wood frames. The set consists of four side chairs and two host armchairs measuring 22 inches wide. The seats have a colorful mandarin or Hermes orange naugahyde fabric that stands out boldly against the black lacquer. Each chair is stamped by the designer on the bottom of the frame. Beautifully constructed with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Sold as a set of six. From an estate in San Francisco, CA. Arms measure 27 inches high.

Condition: Good, minor wear consistent with age and use. Beautifully crafted with strong solid joinery. Age appropriate wear with very minor scuffs and chips in finish which are difficult to see.
