Set of Six Michael Taylor Regency Style Leather Dining Chairs
$9,800.00
A handsome set of six labeled dining chairs designed by Michael Taylor Designs, San Francisco, CA. The rare chairs are crafted from beautifully patinated beech and leather with a distinctive Neoclassical Regency silhouette. The backs are constructed with an elegantly scrolled crest rail, descending downwards with finely reeded accents on the frame. The chairs have an intentionally distressed patina on the finishes to mimic age. The frames are supported by klismos style sabered rear legs and square, tapered column front legs with reeded accents anchored by carved corner blocks. The front of the seat apron has a dramatic curved design in the English Regency taste. The rectangular back panel and seat are upholstered in a rich, dark cocoa brown leather having an attractively weathered patina. The leather is bordered with a fine lining of patinated brass nailheads around the border. Constructed in a sophisticated blend of Directoire, and Neoclassical styles with a classical English Regency silhouette, the chairs are well-suited for a variety of spaces. The chairs are sturdy and solid having excellent joinery and craftsmanship. Michael Taylor maker's plaques and original tags are present on the underside of the seats. Sold as a set of six. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
