Set of Four Michael Taylor Montecito Garden Dining Armchairs

Distinctive set of four Michael Taylor designs Montecito dining armchairs (model #MTD-1078) featuring an intentionally distressed powder coated finish that has a beautifully aged patina. The iconic chairs have smooth ball finials on the back and arms. Arms measure 25 inches high on the flat support. The square backs have vertical slats with a curved top rail. The arms are gracefully curved ending with acanthus decorated supports in the neoclassical taste. Constructed from cast aluminum with excellent joinery and craftsmanship. The late 20th century design is made in the California coastal organic modern style. The seats have a geometric lattice bottom with the original seat cushions included.

Provenance: From the Bel Air estate of Bob and Ginnie Newhart. Sold as a set of four. Seat cushions are slightly faded but presentable as seen in photos.
